Localytics, a firm that deals with mobile analytics, measured app usage globally on 70 million iOS devices to come up with usage rates for individual iPhone models. According to this bit of analysis, the adoption of the Apple iPhone X during its opening weekend topped the initial weekend of usage for the combined Apple iPhone 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus. The latter two were launched on September 22nd while the iPhone X launched on November 3rd.

According to Localytics, the Apple iPhone 7 is currently the most widely used iPhone model as nearly one out of every five Apple handsets in use is an iPhone 7. The iPhone X has a .93% market share while the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 have 2.18% and 1.68% slices of the iPhone pie respectively.

But when you look at data for each iPhone model(s) opening weekend, the .93% tallied by the iPhone X outperformed the .7% scored for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus combined. The bottom line is that despite its expensive price ($999 for 64GB and $1,1149 for 256GB), the Apple iPhone X is off to a good start on a global basis.
